Migrating Firefox from Windows to Linux

Migrating Firefox from Windows is dead easy:

Just copy over Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilename.default into home/username/.mozilla/firefox/profilename.default, if an existing profile name exists just copy the contents of profilename.default into the Linux one and everything will be carried across (bookmarks, plug-ins the lot).

It even managed to carry over the Add-in IE-Tab. unfortunately IE-Tab will not work under Linux as it can’t find the Internet Explorer rendering engine. Hardly a surprise and with Firefox rapidly gaining browser market share from Internet Explorer, hardly worth bothering about.
